1. The lighted display on the Fendor Splendor Paint Meter is a must have, if you think you don't need one because you only go to auctions during the day you are fooling yourself. There will be Cloudy/Rainy days when the lighted display really helps as well as nightime, and everyone will appraise a car in the dark eventually, it only takes one mistake to lose lots of money.

3. Allen, I wanted to thank you for the two FS488's I purchased a few months ago. I was able to purchase two units that read both steel and aluminum for the same price I paid for one "orange" unit a few years ago, and that only read steel!! Its a sturdy unit that has already been dropped a few times and continues to work flawlessly. The lighted display seemed like a nice option but now that I've used it to appraise cars at night its indispensable. With so many manufactures going to aluminum body panels (not just the highlines anymore) I'm very happy to have done my research and found your company.

4. There are a couple of things I like about the FS 488. First off it is very easy to use and extremely easy to read the blue illuminated screen. I find that it is light weight, rugged and very reliable. I also like the case it comes and I hope to see a different belt clip in the future the can swivel and allow you to release the FS 488 while keeping the carrying case clipped to your belt or belt loop. As far as aiding our dealership in purchasing at the auction I have to say the FS 488 has saved us from buying a number of vehicles that have had intensive body work done. For Example this week we were looking at purchasing a newer Honda Civic but when I checked the driver’s door I started to get some higher readings. Upon further investigation and moving the FS 488 around this door we realized that a large section underneath the door handle was not even registering a reading. We realized that this civic had been in a pretty substantial accident with the front quarter panel and hood replaced and a substandard repair on the door. At the very least this saved our dealership future worries of an unhappy customer asking us why the paint is cracking and so forth on his door. Our dealership feels it is an invaluable tool in helping us obtain important information about vehicles we purchase to retail to our valued customers.

5. I have been in the automotive industry for 18 years. After working my way through the ranks, I decided to "go out on my own" and become a professional independent buyer full-time. On any given day I will look at 1500-2500 vehicles and buy for 12+ stores nationwide. There is no way I could preview that many vehicle with out my FenderSplendor Paint Meter!! 7. Hands down easier to read during inclement weather and of course, at night. I expected battery life to be shorter, but so far the lighted display seems to have no adverse affect. I appreciate it most when appraising trades in the evening.

in discovering issues I would never have discovered especially at night and in rainy weather, all

9. I like the new 2008 FS 488 model more than previous models because of the lighted display which helps me work in night auctions. Before I had a little flashlight to check the display. We buy a lot of cars at auctions and now we can be more productive especially at evening auctions. And I really appreciate your idea creating this new lighted screen paint meter

I am a new customer that has purchased the FS488 Fender Splendor and it has one of the best investments I have ever made. I am a lease return inspector and there has been many times that you can tell if a vehicle has been painted and some places questionable, but with the FS488 take all the guess work out. We use it every time either at the auction when purchasing cars or while taking a trade-in. This meter had saved us thousands of dollars. Some of the features I like is the beep of the reading its taking, the blue backlight ...it was overcast today, it stands out plain and clear.

I kept it handy in my right pocket all day. I even noticed other dealers watching me then asking if I was finding paint work.

14. I just wanted to write to let you know that FS 488 has saved my company a few thousand dollars at the auction this past week. The CarFax came out clean on the car we were looking out but once we started using the FS 488, we were able to see that a few of the panels were repainted and that a slight frame damage that most likely wasn’t reported was present! We wouldn’t have been able to catch that without this great devise! Also we go to auction VERY early in the morning and with the lighted function, it’s very useful.
